Town Government
Searsport governs itself by town meeting, while a board of selectmen and a town manager oversee town water, sewage treatment, police patrol, fire protection, emergency medical service, public works, recreational programs and a library. The town has a full time manager, full time assessor and a part-time code enforcement officer. Many town residents serve on a number of boards and committees for all aspects of managing town affairs.
